Hyundai/Kia Technical Training Highlights

Autoworks, Inc owner, Stephen Kosacz sent three of his Automotive Service Excellence certified master technicians to a new
training last week. Ken Vining, Derek Christopherson, and Don Ruger all earned the
advanced training manuals and certificates for attending the Hyundai and Kia Engine Performance Technical Training Seminar in Portland, Maine on April 4 - 5, 2012. The updated technical training was a seven-hour course presented by Gary Machiros of Automotive Training Group.

According to Ken Vining the course presented power train management information ie. engine, transmission, drive train, diagnostics for 2000 - 2012 Kia and Hyundai vehicles. The new gas direct injection or GDI system was a key component of the new information provided. Derek Christopherson believes the maintenance and oil changes for these new vehicles are super important due to the potential build up of carbon and sludge. “Just because it’s a new car,” emphasizes Derek, “doesn’t mean you can skip your oil changes because these vehicles specifically require synthetic oil and the recommended maintenance schedule should be followed.”
