Knowledge is Power is a great workshop that builds an outstanding amount of trust because of its welcoming atmosphere and wonderful refreshments and goodie bags. Kittery Block Party Fun
What a great day of celebration in Wallingford Square for everyone in the family. June 18th from 10AM to 4PM in downtown Kittery, Autoworks and our Smart Car participated in the Kittery Block Party to benefit the Kittery Recreation Department and Fair Tide organization. Free parking for the event was found at our repair facility at 107 Government Street. We had kids of all ages trying out our very popular Smart Car loaner vehicle. We listened to feedback from customers and signed up appointments including for Check Engine Light repair at our Block Party booth. It was a joy to see so many families enjoying the beautiful day, art, food, music and programs. We had a blast meeting new friends and neighbors. To see a list of participants, be sure to check out the event website.
Garage Dance A "Swinging" Success
Autoworks in Kittery held its 16th annual Garage Dance featuring Ben Baldwin and the Big Note last Saturday evening, May 14. Proceeds from this year's event went to benefit the Marshwood Education Foundation. "The Autoworks Garage Dance is a well-known neighborhood affair where the garage is transformed into a place of festivity," said Rachel Martin, MEF President. "People celebrate friendship and community, and enjoy a night out with dancing in this unique setting. It's a popular annual event, and we really appreciate people from all over the Seacoast coming out to support MEF," she said. This year more than $3,700 was raised on behalf of the volunteer organization from the towns of Eliot and So. Berwick, Maine that steps in to serve student needs when the school district cannot. This important effort provides fuel assistance to Kittery residents who are above eligibility for General Assistance but cannot afford fuel. Funds for the program come from fundraising efforts such as the Fuel and More River Dance coming up this September.
Harbor Light Stage Sponsorship
We enjoy sponsoring this organization's fully staged repertory and reader’s theatre series of contemporary and classic plays. Check out their full schedule here.
Supporting "Superman"
We at Autoworks believe the future of our country in the global marketplace lies with our children and their education. Their success in education lies in the hands of both teachers and parents. That's one reason Autoworks sponsored the Portsmouth Music Hall's sold out showing of Waiting for Superman back in late January.
Waiting for Superman explores the reasons why U.S. students have fallen so far behind other countries on educational scales. If you weren't able to attend the showing, by all means try and get to another as it makes its tour across the U.S. It is well worth the cost of a ticket.
